House condemned after drug bust in Lancaster city

LANCASTER, Pa.–A man has been arrested following a four month-long investigation into the sale of heroin from a home in Lancaster City, according to police reports. Investigators also say three children, ranging in ages 5 to 1, were living in the home which was deemed unfit for human habitation. The home has since been condemned.

Alex Rivera Gonzalez, 37, is charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, receiving stolen property, three counts of endangering the welfare of children, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Police executed a search warrant at Rivera Gonzalez’s home located along the 300 block of E. Marion Street on Wednesday. During the search they seized drug packaging materials and paraphernalia, hypodermic needles and a stolen gun.

Investigators say the drug packaging materials and paraphernalia were in the same bedroom in which the one-year-old child slept.

The children are currently being cared for by relatives.

Rivera Gonzalez was arrested and taken o Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail.

Authorities began investigating Rivera Gonzalez in October 2015 and made several undercover heroin purchases from him.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 2.
