YORK, Pa. - On February 17, around 7:40am, Evelyn Miller was hit by a bus on at the intersection of Beaver and Princess Streets in York. She later died at the hospital.
"It’s a great lose for me. It’s like I lost part, a great part," said Emy Delgaudio.
Miller and Delgaudio met at Saint Patrick's Church. She was the first Filippino friend Delgaudio made in America.
"Kind of opinionated lady, but very intelligent and very knowledgeable about current events," said Delguadio.
Miller founded the Philippine American Heritage Council.
"This group, that we formed, is not just a social group. It is not just about parties. It’s more of sharing and dedicating for us who came here to learn about America and embrace this country that adopted us," said Delgaudio.
Miller attended church almost daily. She assisted at the Family and Pregnancy Resource Center and often served Sunday meals to people in need with Compassion York.
