HEAVIER RAIN FOR WEDNESDAY
This evening light rain and drizzle will persist on and off. Clouds remain low and areas of fog will be likely. Temperatures will hold fairly steady in the mid to upper 30s for a few hours before falling into the low to mid 30s overnight. There will be spots across Mifflin, Juniata and Franklin counties, where temperatures will drop near freezing. Because of the concern for freezing rain, a Freezing Rain Advisory goes into effect from Tuesday 10pm until Wednesday at 8am.

Heavy rain possible Wednesday afternoon and evening

Elsewhere, temperatures remain above freezing keeping precipitation in the form of rain. A small threat for mixing in the higher elevations possible through the morning, however, most of the area sees light rain and drizzle.

Heavy rain possible Wednesday afternoon and evening

Strong area of low pressure tracks into the Tennessee Valley through the overnight hours into Wednesday. It moves into Ohio then to the northeast late evening. The associated cold front crosses in the very early morning hours of Thursday. Ahead of the front, a surge of milder air moves in, which will allow temperatures to continue to climb into the evening Wednesday. The high for the day takes place just before midnight. We continue to warm into the very early morning hours Thursday, where the high for the day, in the low 50s is expected. Cooler air wraps in behind the departing system. Temperatures will fall through the morning, rebounding only a few degrees in the early afternoon Thursday to the mid 40s, then fall quickly in the evening. Showers and a rumble of thunder likely early Thursday, then later in the day, a few rain or snow showers possible.
