DELAWARE COUNTY– The Upper Darby Police Department have released a dramatic video of a man overdosing on heroin on a public bus.

Michael Meeney, 25, can be seen taking out a needle, quickly looking around, and then shooting the drug into his arm.

No one on the SEPTA bus seems to notice there was a problem, until the Meeney falls out of his seat onto the floor of the bus.

Emergency workers were called to the scene and Officer Matt Rugh administered the drug Narcan to revive him.

Police later arrested and charged Meeney with possession saying they want a judge to force him into treatment, according to Philly.com.

Police say they are releasing the video to highlight the growing problem of heroin abuse.

“There is a lot of value in seeing how people who are addicted will go to whatever ends to use drugs,” Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael J. Chitwood told Philly.com.
