EPHRATA, Pa. – A Lancaster County grandmother and a three year old child are hospitalized after they were struck early Tuesday evening by a vehicle while crossing the street.
It happened at about 5:29 pm Tuesday in the first block of North Church Street in Ephrata Borough. Police say the woman and child were walking hand in hand, while legally crossing North Church Street in the crosswalk. The striking vehicle was driven by a 28 year old woman from Ephrata.
Both pedestrians were transported to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Police say the child’s injuries appeared serious.
The investigation into the incident continues.
