69-year-old woman killed in Susquehanna Township house fire

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. – The county coroner has responded to the scene of a house fire in the 2300 block of Aspen Way in Susquehanna Township.

The fire broke out shortly after 5 pm. Firefighters arriving on the scene reported heavy flames and smoke pouring from the first floor front of the two story home. There was also a report of entrapment.

Within ten minutes of their arrival firefighters found a 69 year old woman deceased in the living room area of the home where the fire started.  The woman who was disabled lived alone.

One firefighter was injured battling the blaze. He was treated and release from a local hospital.

The fire has been declared accidental. The exact cause is undetermined. The home was total loss.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
