EARL TOWNSHIP, Pa.–Two Philadelphia men are accused of cashing checks which were stolen from mailboxes in Lancaster County last month.

Reynard Roman, 45, and Michael A. Smosny, 28,  are each charged with forgery and theft by deception. Roman is currently in Lancaster County Prison on unrelated charges. Police have a warrant issued for Smosny’s arrest.

The pair are accused of cashing separate stolen checks at the Ephrata National Bank located at 935 N. Railroad Avenue in Earl Township on Feb. 18. The checks were reportedly stolen from a business mailbox in Earl Township.

According to police reports, Roman cashed a forged check totaling $2,250 and Smosney cashed a forged check  totaling $1,850.
