HARRISBURG, Pa.–A Harrisburg woman will spend up to 12 years in state prison for shooting her ex-boyfriend in October.
Ashley Mowery, 26, plead guilty last week to aggravated assault. She was sentenced to 4 to 12 years in a state correctional institution.
The charge stems from an incident that happened on Oct. 6, 2015. Harrisburg Police responded for a report of a man who had been shot inside his home along the 400 block of Crescent Street. The 911 call was made by a neighbor who heard the man’s cries for help.
The victim was taken to Hershey Medical Center and underwent emergency surgery.
Prosecutors say Mowery shot her ex-boyfriend following an argument. Mowery went upstairs, retrieved a gun and shot the victim one time in the stomach.
Mowery fled the scene and originally denied being at home when he was shot. She later confessed to the shooting.
