LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa- A former Lititz-area man will serve up to six decades for abusing a girl for six years.
On Wednesday, Chad Earl Frantz for 30 ½ to 61 years for the abuse, which began in 2003.
Judge Dennis Reinaker presided over Frantz’ trial in December when he was convicted of 10 counts, including rape of a child.
In court, Assistant District Attorney Karen Mansfield said impact from abuse on the girl was more than she’d seen in any other case in her career.
Frantz was deemed a “sexually violent predator” by Reinaker and ordered he register his whereabouts with police, under Megan’s Law, for the rest of his life.
Dr. Robert Stein, a psychologist, opined that Frantz exhibits pedophilic behavior – a sexual interest in children – and would likely re-offend if released. Frantz’ condition is incurable, Stein opined.
Frantz abused the girl, beginning when she was 4, at an apartment on Hopeland Road in Clay Township.
The girl, now 16, testified at trial and was in court Wednesday for sentencing.
