YORK COUNTY, Pa. - Emergency crews on the scene of a crash involving a school bus. It happened on Haines Road, near 7th Avenue, in Springettsbury Township. Children are on the bus but the driver is the only reported injury.
A York Suburban School District spokesperson said the bus was the stop sign on 7th Avenue waiting to turn onto Haines Road. The driver of a Honda Civic was attempting to turn from Haines Road onto 7th Avenue when it was rear ended and push into the front driver's side of the bus. There were 40 students aboard the bus from East York Elementary School.
Because the accident happened just a block from the school, teachers were to run to the scene. They walked the students back to the school. Two students suffered minor bumps. They were sent home with their parents. Another bus took the remaining students home.
No word on injuries to the driver of the Honda. The crash is under investigation.
A second school bus crash was reported in Widsor Township.
