YORK COUNTY, Pa. – A jury finds 29 year old Jeffrey Allen Reid, Jr., guilty of 1st degree murder in the shooting death of Dashaun David, 23 during an  attempted robbery in July 2014. The verdict ends a three day trial in York County Court. Reid was charged with 1st and 2nd degree murder.

Trial Judge Harry M. Ness charged the jury Thursday morning.  It returned by mid-afternoon with a guilty verdict on all charges.  Reid now faces a mandatory life in prison sentence for the 1st degree murder conviction. Formal sentencing is set for late April.

Three other people were also charged in David’s death. Malik Williams and Shonique Smith Hanna are awaiting sentencing after they plead guilty to robbery charges in exchange for their murder charges being dropped.

Trial for a fourth suspect Naquan Coakley is pending the results of mental health evaluation on whether he is competent enough to stand trial.
