HANOVER, Pa. — A woman was struck in the face and robbed of her purse in Hanover last night. It happened around 10:22pm in the area of George Street and Grant Drive. The victim was walking when a man struck her in the face and tried to take her purse. The victim was able to fend off her attacker, who fled the scene on foot. Nothing was taken. The victim received minor injuries and was taken to Hanover Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as being a white male in his mid to late 20’s, approximately 5’ 10” tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, sneakers, black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up and a dark colored beanie cap. The sweatshirt displayed “JNCO” on the front.  The suspect was last observed running west in the 300 block of Grant Drive.

The police department is asking for anyone that may have witnessed the incident or who may have information about the incident contact the Hanover Borough Police Department through York County 911 or at 717-637-5575.
