Derry Township, Pa. - Subway restaurants in Central Pennsylvania are doing their part to help fight childhood cancer. They're donating over $22,000 to Four Diamonds to help with cancer research. This donation was part of the "Cookie that Cares" campaign to raise money and awareness for the Penn State dance marathon, known as THON.
"It's important because of the local ties," said Brett Paxton, the Board Chair of local Subway restaurants. " Having the people that work in your stores, your community that are touched by childhood cancer. Our children, our employees, our communities have these issues. "
A percentage of every featured M&M cookie sold last month is being donated and over 296,000 cookies were sold.
