CARLISLE, Pa. –Police say they tried to stop a car as part of an ongoing investigation for a missing  16 year-old girl and the driver got away after a short pursuit. It happened Sunday, March 13th, around 11:45pm. A Silver Mazda 6 was spotted and police tried to pull the car over at North West St. and Courtyard Dr. The driver took off, and nearly struck a police cruiser in the process.

The pursuit ensued continuing southbound on Clay St. and onto N. Bedford St.  The suspect’s vehicle was found abandoned on Elm St. The driver was later identified as William Harris of Carlisle.  Charges have been filed and an arrest warrant issued for Harris.

Police say it is related to the search for Brandi Keifer, missing since 9:41 pm Sunday night. Keifer jumped out of a van that was transporting her to Ashler Manor Home.

As the van came to a stop at the corner of Lincoln and N West Street a young black male approached the van and unlocked the back door. Keifer jumped from the van and ran away headed north on N. West Street.
