MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - In Cumberland County, more than 1,000 volunteers came out this weekend with a mission to help fight global hunger. Over the eight hour-shifts, the volunteers gathered at the West Shore Evangelical Church in Mechanicsburg to pack 200,000 meals for children in needs. It's all part of the "Feed My Starving Children" MobilePack event.

Each meal has four ingredients which include vitamins, vegetables, soy and rice.

Around 6,200 children die from starvation and malnutrition around the world each day, and volunteers hope these donation will make a big impact.

"Children as young as five can pack and people as old as 105," PRworks Inc. Public Relations & Marketing Director, Rachel Edwards said. "It really runs a gambit and we already had a group here, yesterday, with special needs they were able to pack and it really makes a difference in people's lives by giving them the opportunity to give back."

Meals will also be given to those in Central Pennsylvania.
