LOS ANGELES, CA — A train ride took a serious turn when a shirtless man started confronting his fellow passengers.
The man can be seen in the now viral video acting threatening, pushing and cursing at other passengers Saturday night.
A second man, identified as Adrian Kaczmarek, can be seen putting the shirtless man in a chokehold from behind.
“I was more concerned about my safety and the people on the train safety. I wasn’t sure if he had a knife or if he had a gun,” Kaczmarek told NBC Los Angeles.
Kaczmarek is now being hailed as a hero for his actions. He says that he was concerned that the man was escalating to the point that he was getting physical, so he thought the best solution would be to subdue him.
NBC Los Angeles reports Kaczmarek held the man down until a transit officer arrived, and assisted her in handcuffing him.
Police say the man was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
