LANCASTER, Pa. - Christians around the world are honoring the somber holy day of Good Friday. Seen as one of the holiest days on the Christian calendar, Good Friday commemorates the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Members of the San Juan Bautista Church in Lancaster took the Stations of the Cross to the streets. Hundreds of parishioners joined church members in costumes for a two-hour procession into the city.

Church members portrayed Jesus, the apostles, and roman soldiers while they reenacted Jesus' death. They say the annual tradition allows them to bring their faith to the streets.

"It's a way of bringing the gospel to our neighborhood, and that's what Jesus did," Father Allan F. Wolfe said, "He came to bring good news to the poor, the imprisoned. And so this is our annual way, in a very non-threatening and inviting way, to help people see Jesus is for all of us."

The church's annual procession tradition is more than 30 years-old.
