HUSTONTOWN, Pa. — Investigators found a camouflage hunting mask, gloves, binoculars, a state police badge and id, and different types of ammunition in the car of the accused Fort Littleton Toll Plaza shooter, according to court documents. State Police found the items in Clarence L. Briggs’s BMW. Briggs then exchanged fire with state police troopers. He was shot in the leg and killed shortly after the robbery.
Briggs was a retired state trooper who patrolled the Turnpike. He had filed for bankruptcy in 2015.
