HARRISBURG, Pa- A federal grand jury in Harrisburg has indicted a California man after officials say he traveled to Pennsylvania for sexual activity with a teenager from Lancaster.

Stephen Chang, 27, of Los Angeles, was indicted for travel with intent to engage in criminal sexual conduct and coercion of sexual activity from a minor.

Chang was arrested March 5 and initially charged in a criminal complaint with three counts of travel with intent to engage in criminal sexual conduct.

Chang began communicating with the Elizabethtown girl in August 2014 when she was 13 years old. He persuaded her to send sexually exploitative images and in December 2014 and October 2015, he traveled to Pennsylvania to engage in sexual conduct with her.

In January, police became aware of Facebook messages between Chang and the girl and he was arrested at the airport as he attempted a third meeting with the girl.

If found guilty Chang could face up a maximum penalty of 30 years imprisonment for travel with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. The maximum penalty for coercion or enticement of sexual activity is a life sentence.
