HARRISBURG, Pa. – Police have an arrest warrant for a Harrisburg man, wounded in a shooting earlier in the week, on drug charges.
City Police were alerted on Monday, March 28 at about 4:37 pm that there was a shooting victim at Osteopathic Hospital Emergency room. The victim, Grant Colby, 22, had suffered two small gunshot wounds to the right leg.
During an interview with police Colby, changed the location as to where he was shot at least three different times. Since he was being medically treated, Colby agreed to appear at the station to continue the interview after he was released from the hospital.
The next day, Tuesday March 29 at around 5:44 pm, patrol officers ran the tag of a vehicle and were advised that the license plate was cancelled for insurance cancellation. Officers attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle but the vehicle fled almost striking a marked police vehicle that had active lights and sirens on. The driver of the fleeing vehicle continued through a stop sign and steady red light. Officers discontinued their pursuit due to public safety concerns. Officers that attempted to stop the vehicle were able to confirm that the driver was Grant Colby.
At around 7:17 pm, officers were able to locate the vehicle near Colby’s home on the 1200 block of Market Street. A consent to search was given by the owner of the vehicle who confirmed that Grant was the driver. 50 bags of heroin with a street value of $500 was found in the vehicle.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Colby charging him with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Drug Paraphernalia and Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Duties at Stop Sign /Traffic Control Device
