One lane of I-83 north and south open near Loganville after multi-vehicle crash

YORK COUNTY, Pa.–One lane of Interstate 83 north and south is open near Loganville after both lanes were closed for nearly three hours following a multi-vehicle crash.

The crash happened shortly before 12 p.m. and is affecting both north and southbound traffic between Exit 10: PA 214-Loganville and Exit 8: PA 216-Glen Rock.

Investigators say a tractor-trailer jackknifed in the southbound lane of I-83 near mile marker 9 and hit the jersey barrier. The tractor went through the barrier and came to a rest, blocking the northbound lanes. The trailer portion remained in the southbound lanes.

The tractor-trailer driver suffered minor injuries.

A passing car was hit by debris from the crash–and the driver suffered minor injures as well, police said.

Currently, one lane of both the south and northbound lanes are open.

Drivers should expect delays near the crash scene. PennDOT crews continue to work to make repairs to the concrete barrier and clean up debris.
