HARRISBURG, Pa.-- The price of hunting licenses in Pennsylvania could be going up this year.

Lawmakers introduced Senate Bill 1148 in March which aims to raise fees on every type of license.

For example, the price of a standard hunting license would go from $19 to $29.

If the bill passes, it would be the first hunting license fee increase in more than 17 years in Pennsylvania.

There will be a public hearing on Senate Bill 1148 Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Capitol.

If passed, the increase could go into effect as early as July 1, 2016.
