“We’re not the NFL but we have a lot of talent in the local Harrisburg area.”    Those are the words of Harrisburg Sharks Owner and General Manager Bill Wilson.   The Sharks also have a lot of passion and love for the game of football.   The team has won 16 straight games and they suit up knowing there’s no paycheck waiting at the end of the game.

“The first question everybody asks me is do you get paid?  I’m like, no, we don’t get paid for it but nonetheless, we do approach this in a professional manner,” said Sharks Defensive Back TJ Armstead.

Wilson added, "these guys play it because they want to move on to another level but that's what the Harrisburg Sharks staff and organization are trying to do, to help people further themselves in football."

The Sharks started years ago playing 8-man football.  There's now 11 per side and the guys are closer than ever.

"It's amazing, it's a bond that can't be broken," explained Armstead.   "I wasn't even going to come back this year due to other circumstances.  I wanted to come back because I knew nothing felt better than being around my teammates and family."

The Sharks are the defending champs in the Atlantic Football Association.  Their division includes local teams like the York Silver Bullets, Hanover Rhinos and Franklin County Tigers.   They play their home games at Steel-High's football field.
