NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. – Dogs of all shapes and sizes are gathering this weekend to compete in the fast-paced sport of flyball.

A local team is hosting their 11th annual Flyball Tournament Saturday and Sunday in New Cumberland. The sport is very active and involves dogs racing in teams over hurdles, jumping on the Flyball Box for tennis balls and running back.

People there say it’s just as fun for spectators as it is for K-9 competitors.

“This event is very fun, it’s very active, it’s very neat to do with kids and family,” event participant Abi Walker said, “It’s very bonding, and you get to spend special time with your dog.”

The second day of the tournament is being held at the Yellow Breeches Sports Center from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday.

It is open and free to the public.
