Municipal building damaged in Mt. Gretna hit-and-run

MT. GRETNA, Pa- Cornwall Borough Police are investigating a hit and run after a tractor-trailer caused damage to a municipal building in Mt. Gretna.

According to police, just after 6:00 a.m. Sunday a tractor-trailer traveling along Route 117 made a left turn onto Carnegie Avenue then traveled east on Chautauqua Drive.

The tractor-trailer hit two trees, and a decorative post before hitting the southeast corner of the Mount Gretna Borough Municipal Building.

The tractor-trailer fled the scene traveling in an unknown direction.

The only description police have of the tractor-trailer is that it was light in color with some wording on the side.

Borough employees and the Mount Gretna Fire Company responded to secure the building.  Anyone who may have seen the truck or can provide information is asked to contact the Cornwall Borough Police at 274-2071.
