WEST MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Business people and legislators came together Thursday for the York County Economic Alliance Spring Legislative Luncheon.

FOX43's Evan Forrester served again as the emcee at the event.

While there, we spoke with Rep. Stan Saylor about the education budget.

York County Republicans said Gov. Tom Wolf's school funding formula heavily favors the School District of Philadelphia.

A bill that would change the formula has already passed both the House and Senate by a two-thirds vote, so that prevents a veto by the governor.

Republicans also said York and Lancaster County are shortchanged because of the growth that is occurring in Central Pa.

Saylor said, "This funding restores that money that has been missing for a number of years over a few years. It doesn't do it all at one time. So we're just trying to make sure that the dollars are equitably funding schools across the state not just in the Philadelphia region."

Wolf said Republicans created cuts to schools in the budget. He said he plans on reviewing the bill once it reaches his desk.
