LANCASTER, Pa. – Two of three fugitives wanted in a beating on April 11 at Lancaster’s Buchanan Park were taken into custody Wednesday morning.

Giri Ganesh, 27, and Ishwor Chhetri, 26, were arrested without incident, at separate addresses, by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit and city police.

Ganesh was arrested at a home in the 500 block of Juniata Street, Lancaster.  Chhetr was arrested at a home in the 700 block of Barrcrest Lane, West Hempfield Township. The third suspect, Bhanu Bhattarai, 26, whose last known address is in Ohio, is still wanted.

All three are charged with Aggravated Assault.

The beating victim, suffered a brain bleed, broken nose, and facial fractures. He told police that he was at a Lancaster city bar playing pool with the three men later identified as those charged.

The three men offered him a ride home about 9 p.m. Instead of taking him home, they took him to Buchanan Park, in the 900 block of Buchanan Avenue and beat him.

He was punched, kicked, and strangled with a belt. The three men also took off much of his clothes.

The victim was taken to Lancaster General Hospital, admitted, and treated for his injuries.

In a police interview days later, Chhetri still had blood on his pants.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Bhattarai should contact police at (717) 735-3301 or the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit at (717) 723-4929.
