HARRISBURG, Pa. – Leaders in Harrisburg came together with a mission to uplift local children and young men. It’s part of the My Brother’s Keeper forum held at Camp Curtin YMCA on Saturday.

The goal of the national program started by President Obama, is to encourage communities throughout the country to discuss the needs of boys and men of color.

A panel of political and community leaders talked about ways to get rid of crime in the area as well as increase educational and work opportunities for young men.

“What we did today was that we brought those stakeholders together, that actually have those services and or are service providers, to have a community conversation about  how we can efficiently and effectively engage those services for our young people in particular and our young men of color through President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative .”

The forum is part of a series that is focusing on issues in the community and their impact on youth.
