YORK COUNTY, Pa – The York County Coroner is responding to the scene of a fatality involving a pedestrian.  It happened at about 2:22 p.m. near the intersection of Windsor Road and Delta Road, in Windsor Township just outside of Red Lion.

York Area Regional Police say a man between 30 and 40 years old was walking along Windsor Road when he was struck from behind by a vehicle.

Windsor Road between Delta Road and Azalea Drive is closed to traffic for hours while York Area Regional Police investigated.

UPDATE: The victim of the accident has been identified.

Police say that the victim, Richard Zech, Jr., 45, was walking along the 2900 block of Windsor Rd. just before 2:30 p.m. when he was struck from behind by a vehicle.

An autopsy is scheduled for this morning.
