CONWAY, SC – The son of Baltimore Ravens Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis is arrested on a sexual assault charge.
Ray Anthony Lewis, III, 20, of Apopka, Florida surrendered to police in Conway, South Carolina, Friday, morning. Lewis, was charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct. He is free on $10,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint, Lewis did engage in sexual battery with an 18 year old female and that he had knowledge the victim was mentally incapacitated and/or physically helpless from the use of drugs and/or alcohol.
The incident allegedly happened on January 23rd. After the alleged assault, the victim went to a local hospital where a rape kit was performed.
The police investigation into the case was completed on April 25th. Investigators felt that they had enough evidence to seek an arrest warrant for Lewis.
Lewis’ attorney says his client is not guilty of any criminal conduct.
