Fatal Saturday morning crash in Dauphin County

UPPER PAXTON TWP, Dauphin County, Pa- A 44-year-old woman was killed along Route 147 in Dauphin County Saturday morning.

State Police say just before 9:00 a.m.,  Dottie Pheasant, of Lewistown, was driving her Dodge Ram truck north along Route 147 near the Saturn Surplus business in Millersburg.

Pheasant swerved across the southbound lane and went off the left side of the road slamming head-on into a parked 28 1/2 foot trailer.

The trailer was being used for storage by the Saturn Surplus business.

Pheasant’s truck became wedged underneath the trailer. The passenger in the car, 67-year-old Sandra Clinger, was able to get out a flag down a passerby for help.

Pheasant suffered severe head, neck and chest injuries.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dauphin County Coroner.

State police are still investigate the cause of the crash.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

MILLERSBURG, Pa- The coroner has been called to the scene of a crash in Millersburg Dauphin County early Saturday morning.

According to Dauphin County 911, the crash happened just before 9:30a.m. along the 3200 block of Route 147, just north of Millersburg.

The crash is involving a tractor-trailer and a pick up truck. The road is expected to be closed until around 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

Sate police are investigating. No other information was available at this time.
