TRACKING RAIN: After wrapping up  April drier than average by a half of an inch, we’ll turn that rainfall deficit into a rainfall surplus over the week ahead.  For your Sunday afternoon, the steady rain tapers off to spotty showers.  We’ll keep those spotty showers–off and on–through Monday afternoon.  Monday evening, we’ll take a break from the rain, but showers return overnight Monday.

Future Weather

MORE RAIN: Tuesday’s an interesting day.  The models have showers–off and on–mainly to the south and east of Harrisburg.  Some spots on Tuesday west and north of Harrisburg stay dry, but cloudy.

3-Day Forecast

BRIEF BREAK: Tuesday night, the showers–for southeastern PA–wrap up, and on Wednesday morning, we’ll even see some breaks of sun.  Yet, the sun doesn’t last long.  In the afternoon, more rain arrives.

SHOWERS LINGER: The piece of energy that brings Wednesday’s rain wants to vacation in Central PA.  It will sit and spin scattered showers over us–off and on–Wednesday afternoon through Sunday, May 8!  It finally leaves Central PA on Monday, May 9th.

7-Day Forecast

TEMPERATURE TREND: We have average highs in the upper 60s these days, and we’ll stay pretty close to average with highs in the mid 60s for much of the week ahead.  On Wednesday, we’ll sneak up to 70.

SKYWARN TRAINING: Yesterday, Chief Meteorologist MaryEllen Pann chatted about Skywarn Training.  Read about it here.  I want to gives you a head’s up that you can take the 2-hour training on Saturday, May 21 in York.  I recommend it.  The National Weather Service gives a great severe weather lecture, and spotters really help out them and us.  We use spotter snowfall and severe weather information on air.  Interested?  Sign up with the NWS here.
