Austin Michael Craley

SPRINGETTSBURY TWP —  Suspected rapist Austin Craley was taken into custody at the York Galleria mall around 8PM according to York Area Regional Police.

The arrest was made after an anonymous tip.

Police say Craley had a normal appearance, and was walking around the mall by himself.

Officers talked to Craley for about thirty seconds, before he admitted to police he was the fugitive Austin Craley.

Police located three loaded handguns on Craley which he had previously stolen.

Craley failed to appear for his scheduled court hearing last month on charges of statutory sexual assault, indecent assault on a person less than 16 years of age and corruption of minors.  The charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred in July of 2015. Craley was arraigned on those charges on November 24, 2015.

20-year-old Craley has been on the run from police since April 15th when investigators say he went to the home of his 14-year-old victim. Craley had been texting the victim, and came to her home with a stolen gun.  Investigators say his text message stated he was “coming to get her.”
