YORK, Pa. – A York City man is behind bars for allegedly raping and sexually assaulting his step-daughter more than 1,000 over a seven year period.

West Manchester Township Police filed charges against Andra Johnson, 54, last Friday.  According to court documents Johnson began having sex with the girl when she was 8 years old and ended when she became pregnant in 2013.  She gave birth to a girl in September 2014.

Johnson was the victim’s live in boyfriend. He reportedly had sex with the girl almost daily in their York City home when her mother was away.  The sexual assaults stopped when the girl became pregnant.

West Manchester Township Police began investigating the case at the end of December 2015, when the child and her grandfather initially reported the alleged assaults. DNA tests revealed that Johnson was the biological father of the child.

Charges against Johnson include Rape of a Child, Statutory Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault, Indecent Assault of a Person Less than 13 years of age, Corruption of Minors, and Indecent Assault.

Following arraignment Johnson was sent to York County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.

The investigation into the case continues.
