LITITZ, Pa.– Two men have been charged in the results of an ongoing investigation into an apartment building fire that occurred on Monday, December 21, 2015.

Andrew Brown, 33, and William Hicks, 37, have been charged with criminal conspiracy to commit arson, causing or risking a catastrophe, and recklessly endangering another person.

The Lititz and several neighboring fire companies were dispatched to an apartment building fire in the 200 block of East Lincoln Avenue in the early evening of December 21. A contractor that had been working in one of the adjoining apartments had heard smoke alarms, and located a fire within the apartments, and called 911.

Upon arrival, the fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze and the majority of the damage was contained to one apartment. A State Police Fire Marshall was called to the scene and determined that the fire was intentionally set within the living room of the dwelling.

Brown lived in the apartment in which the fire originated.

He was arraigned on January 28 and remanded to Lancaster County Prison on $500,000 bail.

Hicks, whom is Brown’s brother, was also remanded to Lancaster County Prison on $500,000 bail.
