LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. – Three Chester County teens are charged following a police pursuit of a stolen pickup in East Lampeter Township.  The incident began at about 1:28 a.m. on Friday May 6. A township police officer noticed a green Ford Ranger pickup speeding in the 2100 block of Lincoln Highway East.

The officer attempted to stop the truck, but the driver failed to yield and sped away onto Greenland Drive. The pickup crashed into a pole after traveling a short distance. Three males jumped out of the truck and attempted to run away. Two 17 year old male juveniles were quickly rounded up by police. The third 18 year old male suspect was eventually found hiding in a residential shed.

The Ford Ranger pickup truck was discovered to have been stolen during a burglary in Chester County.

The pickup driver, a 17 year old from West Chester will be charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer and other summary traffic violations.

The 18 year old was identified as Kevin Michael Avila, of West Grove, was charged with Felony Criminal Trespass, and Loitering and Prowling at Night.

The other 17 year old juvenile from Parkesburg was charged with a Curfew violation.    Vehicle Theft and Burglary,  Other charges are expected to be filed by Pennsylvania State Police.
