On March 28, a Dallastown Area High School student was getting ready to exit her school bus. However, when she stood up, her foot fell through the floor and got stuck.
“In my head I was thinking ‘wow, I could lose my leg,'” she told FOX43.
Dallastown School District uses the fleet services of Durham School Services. Durham took the bus out of service immediately. FOX43 learned the bus was fifteen years old and only used as a fill-in vehicle, but it had passed a Durham maintenance check just twenty days earlier.
Tonight, FOX43 speaks with the student and her family about the scary experience as they ask what’s being done about bus safety checks.
