LANCASTER, Pa--The Red Cross of Central PA is currently in need for volunteers.  An open house was held today at their Orange Street location in Lancaster.  Folks were welcome to stop in to learn more about the Red Cross does, and how they can volunteer.

"Volunteers are at the heart of everything that we do." said Tom Reardon, Regional Volunteer Services Officer with the Red Cross.  "Without them we wouldn't be able to accomplish most of our work.  Its not easy being a volunteer.  But it is rewarding."

Currently the Red Cross is looking for volunteers to respond to local disasters such as fires and floorings when they occur.  The Red Cross of Central PA covers 72 counties, so volunteers are always needed.  To find out more on how you can become a volunteer click here.
