Harrisburg, Pa. – The Keystone State Games Festival of Sports and Pennsylvania Senior Games kicked off at the state capitol. Several people who helped make the games a reality in past years were honored at the inaugural event. There was also a 1.5 mile walk on the capitol complex walking route to promote the WalkWorks initiative, which aims to increase people’s physical activity by creating walking groups.
“The games will deliver an economic impact of nearly $10 million to York County. That’s up 25% from last year,” said Dave Hegg of York. “Every dollar the county invests generates $140 in York County retail sales.”
The 35th annual Keystone State Games Festival of Sports and the 33rd biennial Pennsylvania Senior Games will take place at the end of July.
