CONEWAGO TWP., York County, Pa. –Charges against a local cemetery owner have been dropped so that a federal investigation may proceed. The owners of Suburban Memorial Gardens, Arminda and Theodore Martin, both of Ravenna, Ohio, are accused of taking money from customers and not providing the services.
Northern York Regional Police received numerous complaints from cemetery customers who say they would pay the Martins for plaques, grave markers and memorials for their loved ones but never receive what they paid for.
Now, the local York County charges against Arminda and Theodore Martin have been withdrawn by the York County District Attorney’s Office to allow a Federal investigation to proceed.
The has been turned over to the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of the Inspector General.
