Harrisburg police seek to ID suspect in mini-market robbery

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Harrisburg City Police hope the release of surveillance photos will help to lead to identifying a robbery suspect.

The robbery happened just before 10 o’clock Wednesday night at the Gulf station mini-market at 1951 Herr Street.

An employee told police that he was the only person in the store and was mopping the floor towards the rear of the store.  As he was mopping the suspect walked into the store and immediately approached him.

The suspect then put a gun to the employee’s back and told him to give him all of the money in the drawer.  The suspect walked the victim to the cash register, which is in a small enclosed area.  The victim opened the drawer and handed the bandit about $2,000 in cash.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall.  He was wearing a red hooded Under Armor sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, black pants, and brown boots which appeared to be similar to Timberland’s.  The sweat shirt had white writing around the hood.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Dauphin County Police dispatch at (717) 558-6900 and ask for a City detective.
