Suspect charged in 2015 Harrisburg homicide
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Harrisburg City Police make an arrest in a September 2015 homicide. Police discovered the decomposing body of Theodore McCarty just before 10 p.m. on September 8, 2015 in his home on the 1st block of S. 19th Street. Certain irregularities and the advanced decomposition of the body triggered a heightened investigative response. An autopsy revealed that McCarty had been stabbed with an object several times.
Detectives were able to identify a suspect early on in the case but did not have enough evidence to charge him.
On Thursday, May 18th, Thomas Boyer was brought in to the police station to be interviewed. He eventually confessed to murdering McCarty. He said that he was in McCarty’s apartment when they began to argue. The argument became physical and Boyer allegedly stabbed McCarty with a knife several times.
Boyer is charged with Criminal Homicide and Instruments of Crime.
