SHREWSBURY BOROUGH, York, Pa- Southern Regional Police arrested a woman for DUI after she crashed into a utility pole in Shrewsbury Saturday afternoon.

Anne Forsen-Welsh, 30 of Annapolis, MD, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving while operating on a DUI suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

The accident happened at 2:30 p.m. Saturday along E. Forrest Avenue in Shrewsbury Borough.

Police say Forsen-Welsh pulled out of a constructions site into moving traffic, across E. Forrest Avenue striking another vehicle. Her car then jumped the curb and struck the utility pole guide wire.

Police determined  Forsen-Welsh was DUI and arrested, they also found her in possession of marijuana.

It was discovered that she also was wanted under a previous last name on DUI charges stemming from 2010, police said. Her license in PA is currently under a DUI suspension.

She was arraigned and committed to York County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
