PLENTY OF SUN, WARMER TEMPS:

High pressure begins building in across the area tonight, along with a strengthening ridge of high pressure across the east coast.  This means a string of sunny days with warmer temperatures in the 80s!  Wednesday, highs warm to the lower to middle 80s under lots of blue skies.  Our driest day of the week before the humidity increases Thursday and Friday.  Temperatures jump to the middle and upper 80s, and daily isolated thunderstorms during the afternoon are possible.

AIR QUALITY ALERT

With the warmer air will come increases in ozone and air pollutants.  If you or someone you know suffers from respiratory or lung issues, limit your time outdoors.  Refuel cars and trucks after dusk.  Combine errands and reduce trips.  Conserve electricity and set your A/C at a higher temperature.  These are just a few tips.  If you want more information, visit  http://www.airqualitypartners.org/.

Air Quality Alery plus Scale

With increasing sunshine, be very mindful of your skin.  The UV index will run higher meaning your chance to burn is greater. Be sure to use sunscreen, take frequent breaks, avoid the hottest time of day outdoors, and wear light colored clothing if you are going to be outdoors.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND OUTLOOK:

The summer pattern remains through the holiday weekend!  Highs climb to the middle and upper 80s on Saturday and should stay dry.  However, Sunday, a few afternoon thunderstorms are expected.   Memorial day weather is looking much the same for now.  We are watching two systems, a cold front from the north, and an area of low pressure across the southeast coast.  Models are starting to indicate an increase in clouds, and thunderstorm activity more of a threat.  Highs, while not as warm, climb to near 80.
