COLUMBIA, Pa.-- This Memorial Day weekend, a group in Lancaster County is looking for veterans.

The Gen. John H. Michaelis Post #327 of the Korean War Veterans Association is seeking new members. The chapter held its first recruiting session on Saturday in Columbia.

The group is looking for any member of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, or Coast Guard who served in Korea from June 25, 1950, through January 31, 1955.

"There's been a few dozen here that we've talked to so far and hopefully it will continue on.. We talked to anyone who served in Korea or any veteran who knows someone that served there to get the word out there for us," says Paul Cunningham, a veteran who also organized the event.

The Gen. John H. Michaelis Post #327 of the Korean War Veterans Association currently has 92 members and serves Lancaster, Lebanon, Berks, Dauphin and Cumberland Counties.

The group provides support to veterans and their families, while honoring those who fought in the Korean War.
