HARRISBURG, Pa. — The release of government-exchanged emails, which allegedly include both porn and inappropriate content, has been delayed, according to the Office of the Attorney General. Preliminary findings of the investigation were originally scheduled to be released Tuesday, May 31.
Attorney General Kathleen Kane, her state-appointed Solicitor General Bruce L. Castor, and former Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler cancelled their Tuesday press conference.
In a statement, Castor said “the working draft report was not comprehensive, and that too many of the emails provided in support of the working draft report were redacted.”
Castor requested Gansler and BuckleySandler, LLP – Gansler’s law firm – prepare a full, un-redacted comprehensive report. The independent investigators, whose deadline was the end of May, were unable to comply with the “aggressive timetable the Solicitor General desired,” the Office of Attorney General wrote in a statement.
Castor said he saw no alternative apart from “granting more time to the independent investigators to complete their comprehensive report.”
“An opportunity to present the independent investigators’ findings will be scheduled over the summer,” the Office of Attorney General wrote.
