HARRISBURG, PA – Dauphin County Commissioners Jeff Haste, Mike Pries and George P. Hartwick, III are reminding residents within a 10-mile radius of the Londonderry Township-based Three Mile Island (TMI) that a test of the facility’s emergency warning sirens will be conducted on Thursday, June 2 at 12:15 p.m.

As part of the test conducted by Exelon Generation, which operates TMI, all 96 sirens within 10 miles of the facility will sound for three minutes.

The sirens are an outdoor warning system designed to alert residents to tune to an Emergency Alert System (EAS) broadcast station for information from state officials. During the siren test, EAS will be activated by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.
