2 charged for shooting at a truck driver along I-81 Tuesday

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA – A man and a woman from Virginia are facing charges after an incident along Interstate 81 in Middlesex Township.

According to State police in Carlisle, the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday near mile marker 52 near the Newville exit.

Police say 23-year-old Tony Thomas of Middleburg, Virginia was traveling southbound on I-81 near when he fired a shot from a semi-automatic pistol.

The bullet reportedly hit the passenger side window of a tractor-trailer, going through to the windshield in front of the victim, a male truck driver.

Police say the truck driver suffered minor injuries from broken glass.

Thomas is facing numerous charges including aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Police say a 36-year-old Abigail Curran also of Middleburg Virginia, was  inside the vehicle with Thomas and she is facing charges of riot, and Disorderly  conduct.

Both are being held at Cumberland County Prison.
