SHOWERS GRADUALLY MAKE A RETURN:
Thursday brings more clouds, helping to knock a few degrees off afternoon highs, which will warm to the upper 70s and lower 80s. East-southeasterly flow pulls in more moisture through the day adding to the clouds. Showers come in as early as Thursday night arriving in our western counties then spreading east overnight. Most of the showers fall early Friday with just an isolated threat for the afternoon. Highs still climb to the lower 80s with breaks of sunshine mixing in and out of the clouds.
Drier air spills in behind the departing front for Saturday. High pressure briefly in control brings a nice start to the weekend with partly to mostly sunny skies. With the sun-cloud mix, highs warm to the lower 80s. A stronger front brings the next greatest chance of showers and thunderstorms for the second half of the weekend. Some of the storms may be strong. An upper-level trough digs in over the northeast too, which means cooler temperatures. Expect high temperatures in the upper 70s.
The week begins with cooler temperatures in the 70s. While much of the day is dry, a few isolated showers are possible Monday. An isolated shower can’t be ruled out Tuesday, but most of the day is dry under partly sunny skies. Sunshine and dry weather expected Wednesday. Highs remain in the 70s.
