Staff member severely injured during attack at Youth Development Center

TYRONE TWP, Perry County, Pa- Two 18-year-old boys are being charged after they assaulted a staff member at a Youth Development Center In Perry County.

According to State police in Newport, an 18-year-old from New York and an 18-year-old from Philadelphia are being accused of assaulting a staff member at the Loysville Youth Development Center located along the first block of Opportunity Drive in Tyrone Township, Perry County.

Police say a 43-year-old Mechanicsburg man was working at the center when he was attacked just before 6:00 p.m. Monday. The man was severely injured during the attack, No word on his condition.

According to police, the New York teen is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one county simple assault. The Philadelphia teen is being charged with one count each of aggravated and simple assault.

Both were placed in Perry County prison. Further details on the attack were not available.
